Am I the last person to find out the Willie May died on 9-11? I can’t find any details about whether he was on one of the planes or in one of the towers or just tending the fields on his Pennsylvania farm. This display at Pacific Bell / SBC / AT&T Park didn’t mention how he died.

It’s also strange that he was never mentioned in any of the the dozens of 9-11 related movies. I recorded them all with my Tivo and I watch them all the time. Like President Bush, my favorite disaster is 9-11. Hurricane Katrina is really lame in comparison. 9-11 is so much more exciting because there are so many people to blame and so many conspiracies to uncover. I just wish Willie Mays would get the respect he deserves. He was one of the greatest baseball players of all time who died in the greatest disaster of all time. Why doesn’t anyone care?
All I know is that he’ll be missed.
